We're making serious headway on our home-building

We're making serious headway on our home-building adventure! (And our crew ain't too shabby either, even in the pouring rain 😉)

Property lines have been cut and surveyed (though apparently we need to fix one side before final paperwork can be submitted), the land has been cleared, our driveway permit has been approved (now we have to get the driveway put in soon before winter hits!). And if we're really lucky, excavation soon too! 🤞🙅‍♀️❄️

2020 has been the pits, but we're making the most of all this free time!

It charged our excitement up to a whole new level, as we’re finally able to truly envision driving in, our yard, our views looking out our windows, and so much more.
Spring 2021 can’t come fast enough… but don’t come too fast because we still have lots of work to do!

When COVID shut down all the horse shows this year, I actually felt myself breathe a sigh of relief. I kept playing this game as though I was going to do the show circuit; picking out shows I was never going to go to, working hard on a goal I didn’t even have, and pretending like I was disappointed when they all got canceled because “damn, this was going to be our year!”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Instead, COVID gave me the opportunity to pretend like I was taking the summer off and just enjoying the warm weather with my horse; trail riding, bareback walks around the property, fun groundwork that worked our minds...

It wasn’t until things started opening up again that I realized that it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do in the first place.
